DUE TO OUR IN DEPTH KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE OF FOOD RETAIL DEVELOPMENTS AHR WAS APPOINTED BY PEEL LAND & PROPERTY TO DELIVER A 45,000FT2 NET SALES ANCHOR FOODSTORE AS PART OF THE MIXED USE CHATHAM WATERS REDEVELOPMENT MASTERPLAN. THE MASTER PLAN SCHEME WILL TRANSFORM 26 ACRES OF BROWN-FIELD LAND ON PART OF THE FORMER CHATHAM DOCKS INTO AN EXCITING MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT.
The architectural team played a key part in supporting our clients through consultation with the council and by presenting the scheme at design reviews, ensuring the vision for the scheme and the master-plan development was effectively communicated and a high design standard was maintained. Effective communication between the end user, the developer and consultant team was essential in ensuring a smooth transition at each phase and throughout the scheme development. We were able to play a positive part in publicising the site and its social regeneration by running an art competition that engaged the local community.
One of the outstanding features of the store is it’s clean and sharp linear appearance, this was achieved via attention to technical detailing at construction stage, ultimately resulting in a high quality & superior finish to the store. We were able to form a collaborative relationship with the Design & Build Main Contractor which helped us to maintain a positive influence upon the quality of the finished build.
