The new leisure centre provides a design in keeping with the parkland environment, with full-length windows giving views of trees, and a café with outdoor seating. The facility will be much larger than the current centre, with the sports hall holding 15 badminton courts and an eight-lane, 25-metre swimming pool. Outisde, the full-size all-weather pitch and five-a-side pitches will be retained and refurbished and four new tennis courts will be opened.
Despite the larger size, due to careful design the centre will maintain a similar footprint with no loss of green space, demonstrating its high environmental standards.
