AHR BUILDING CONSULTANCY WORKED CLOSELY WITH GREETLAND ACADEMY TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT A ROBUST BID TO SECURE FINANCE UNDER THE ACADEMIES CAPITAL MAINTENANCE FUND. THE BID WAS SUCCESSFUL AND WE WERE RETAINED TO DELIVER THE SCHEME CONSISTING OR 3 PROJECT ELEMENTS.
The first element involved refurbishment of an existing dilapidated corridor. The corridor had single glazed timber curtain walling with a felt covered flat roof and the area also had asbestos containing materials which had to be addressed carefully and professional. AHR Building Consultancy successfully delivered this part of the project with replacement of the glazed elements and roof covering and the competent management of the asbestos removal.
The second element involved construction of a new corridor linking two existing buildings to create easier access between the main school building and the gym. This extension also allowed for additional teaching accommodation for smaller group work.
The third element involved a remodel of the toilet area which included a rationalisation of existing space to also provide a new cloakroom and pupil entrance.
The Academy’s priorities for the scheme included ensuring works were undertaken within a set contract period and within budget and that disruption to the school staff and pupils was kept to a minimum.
