AN AWARD WINNING OFFICE SPACE FOR MICROSOFT, ASTANA, KAZAKHSTAN. THE 450M2 REGIONAL HUB SERVES AS A CENTRAL BASE FOR THE ENTIRE WIDER KAZAKHSTAN REGION. THE DESIGN FOLLOWED MICROSOFT'S CORPORATE BRANDING AND PROVIDES AN EXCITING ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH TO WORK.
The office space is divided into three principal zones, which helps to maximize the efficiency of the work process considering the specifics of business and corporate policy.
The front area includes a reception zone, lounge area and a Microsoft Innovative Center (MIC) room which is used for conference and training purpose for 25 persons in addition to a number of meeting rooms. The specific character of work processes involve intensive and frequent use of meeting rooms that are actively involved, not just in the event of meetings and conferences, but also in the daily work routine. The reception and lounge areas are also designed to hold formal and informal coffee breaks and events.
The hub, which is a relatively small room, but yet very effective in serving its purpose, not just as break space and a kitchen but also as a flexible working area, where different work and social scenarios can take place.
The back Office, with 12 working desks, is mixed with a number of “focus” rooms (that are specific for this business) flexible meeting and work soft areas and play zones. The overall layout and design features are not only decorative but also functional.
All of these three areas are bright and comfortable, involved corporate branding and colors are clean and crisp, applied finishing materials and furniture have high quality specifications and are environmental friendly. All of this follows and conforms specific design guidelines of Microsoft Corporation. In the project we incorporated a smart design strategy, as well as fun ideas to create an office space that implies all the core values of Microsoft Corporation, where social life and working environment are integrated.
