THE PROJECT, A RESULT OF A WINNING DESIGN COMPETITION ENTRY, IS PARTICULARLY CHALLENGING DUE TO THE VERY SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF THE LOCAL PLAN, RISK OF OVERSHADOWING EXISTING RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS AND RIGHTS OF LIGHT.
The design solution offers a slim tower with a substantial “cut” to allow direct sunlight into the apartments nearby. The brief called for 15,000 m² of net rentable office space and parking for approximately 160 cars. Due to very limited possibilities parking is organised on three underground levels, covering the entire plot. Several retail spaces are accommodated on the ground floor, facing the public spaces of the city square and main high street.
