AHR WAS AN EARLY ADOPTER AND DEVELOPED DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES TO IMPROVE DESIGN DECISION MAKING, COMMUNICATION OF IDEAS, QUALITY OF INFORMATION AND REDUCE THE RISKS TO COST, TIME AND QUALITY OF PROJECTS AS WELL AS ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE.
We have innovative and interactive ways of working in the virtual environment that combines Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Scan to BIM.
Our track record of early adoption of BIM technology started in 2007 when we recognised the potential benefits for the construction industry and invested heavily in software, training and resources. As technologies advance we have maintained our position at the head of the implementation curve and in 2016 became the first architecture led practice in the UK to achieve BSI Level 2 verification.
We continue to implement and deliver excellence in this area and our advancement to Level 3 is well underway. Our BIM experts are active in industry-wide discussion surrounding future developments and shaping the technological landscape of the construction industry for generations to come.
BIM is integral to projects across our services and offers us the tools with which to build computer generated models of our designs – using and containing digital objects that carry information about the design, construction and operation of an asset. In this virtual world we can explore our designs – to appreciate a space or a function and to collaborate on the co-ordination of the design with the stakeholder team. This adds value for clients, giving them a one-stop-shop for the multiple aspects of their requirements.
BIM is a tool to support collaborative working. It can consolidate the data gathered to construct a building, and then grow it into a coherent, and evolving digital model that can be used to optimise a building’s construction and operation.
We can help our clients in identifying the purpose of BIM, why it will benefit them, when their input is required and what their contribution looks like. We have developed strong skills for interpreting the technical requirements of a level 2 BIM project into tasks that our clients can relate to. These skills are acknowledged through our BSI verification for leading and managing Level 2 BIM projects.
We provide a comprehensive Information Manager service for clients commissioning a Level 2 BIM project. We offer this as part of the whole service or as a stand alone offer.
