The architecture and building consultancy practice has a well-established legacy of award-winning design, providing value, creativity and functionality and the promotion of Robert HopkinsGurminder Sanghera and Imran Kassim strengthens this.

  • Robert is passionate about creating environments that enhance the health and wellbeing of occupants and utilises pioneering research to advance his designs into new areas that can provide exceptional benefits to the user. An advocate for the sharing of knowledge, Robert has been spearheading AHR's long-established commitment to sustainability and last year was appointed as AHR's Head of Sustainability.

Of the appointment, Robert said "Through innovative design, we can create spaces that protect our environment and encourage a sustainable future. As architects, we focus on creating spaces that enhance the lives and wellbeing of users. With the climate emergency we all need to embrace this, from how we live, to how we work and how we learn. I am thrilled with this opportunity to continue to champion this internally and realise the ambitions of our clients."

  • Gurminder's extensive multi-sector experience, from advanced manufacturing sites to residential projects, regreening of town centres, and mixed-use regeneration, positively contributes to the future growth of the built environment. He thrives on connecting with the next generation and his peers creatively, acting as a mentor at the University of Huddersfield and participating in many regional Property Forums and awards panels.

"We have seen a rush of investment in the North and this has created opportunities for us in a whole range of projects. We are laying the foundations for our future, whilst making places viable for people to spend time in now and creating spaces for communities to thrive in."

"We have always been a practice that prides ourselves on our multi-sector experience, but now I feel this more passionately than ever and it is down to the strong culture of collaboration between regional offices which exists at AHR."

  • Imran has been paramount in directing AHR's offerings at the forefront of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) design and leads the delivery projects across the practice, in a number of sectors including education, health, residential and civic. A thought leader on the topic, Imran is an expert not only in the efficiency of design that MMC lends itself to but also the nuances of production processes and technological requirements of an MMC project.

Imran said "I am honoured to be part of a practice which provides not only excellent levels of design quality but also exemplar levels of client service. To lead extremely talented people at AHR using the latest technology is an exciting prospect, which will help us continue to provide intelligent solutions to the health, education and housing challenges that face our communities and society."

  • Langan added, "I am confident that the trio will strengthen the breadth and depth of the management team and I am excited to work in partnership with them as we continue to grow the practice together."
